Need to find cheap food in Battambang?

Your cheapest option is to buy food from the Phsar Nat Central Market.

Choose from a large selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, yummy sticky rice and mouthrunning local soups. At the market, they have various food stalls: chicken, duck, fish, insects and so on. Hard to know where to start!

You have otherwise restaurants and a few coffee shops around town.

White Rose Restaurant

White Rose was packed with locals and few foreigners. They serve cheap delicious Khmer and Thai food. And not to mention, they serve it fast. I think I waited for 3 minutes before my soup was on the table. And you can get dishes for about $5!

White Rose is not a typical restaurant where you can sit and admire beautiful art/interior. It's very simple and a place to have your quick meal!

Sunrise Coffee Shop

Backpackers hang out here to eat tasty sandwiches or cakes for breakfast, exchange a book or to rent a bicycle.

Try the bagels or their cookies, they`re delicious! Not to mention, their coffees do actually taste like coffee.. It`s hard to find good coffee in Cambodia, so you definitely have to try this place if you`re looking for one.

Where: It's located west of Phsar Nat Market.

Smokin Pot is known for serving authentic Khmer food and is a popular place among backpackers. Their Amok is to die for! And if you`re up for Thai food, they have that as well.

Interested in learning the basics of Khmer cooking?

You don't have to look far! Smokin Pot have cooking classes. The local teacher will take you at the market and tell you about the ingredients, and what's best. Then you go back to cook three courses!

You should book in advance because their classes are popular.
