Julie's is probably one of the cheapest guesthouses in Chiang Mai.
Rooms are clean, cheap and simple! -- Everything a backpacker needs!
The staff is very helpful and will help you arrange treks, visa runs, flights, cooking classes and so much more.
You're going to love the relaxed atmosphere and you can just hang out in their garden, or play pool.

SK House
Price per night: 400 B
SK House is a popular guesthouse. This is why:
- Clean rooms with attached bathroom and hot shower
- They have their own small restaurant where
you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner while watching a Thai or Western movie on their large-screen TV
- And if you pass their internet corner, you`ll find a sitting area with bar
chairs in wood where you can have a Singha.
- Or you can sit in their lovely garden, drink tea while reading a book.
Otherwise you can take a dip in their
swimming pool.
Search for Chiang Mai budget accommodation:
- Excellent location -- SK is located just 10 minutes from the markets, 5 minutes to the bars and the main attractions which are situated in the center of the city.
I personally liked this place and fell in love with their garden and the Pad Thai chicken.
And they also provide laundry service, internet access and overseas calls. If you want to make a cheaper call, there`s a pay phone just outside the entrance to SK House.
If you want to arrange trekking tours, the staff at the guest house can help you with that. But beware of the fact that there has been some reports on trek-pushing at SK House. I`m afraid I can`t comment this cause I haven`t experienced it.

If you just want a simple base in Chiang Mai, this guest house can provide cheap rooms with air-con. A room with fan cost even less.
Their bar is the highlight -- snooker and darts!

Your Guest House
Price per night: 200-850 B
The cheapest room is for 1 person and you have to share a bathroom with fellow backpackers. If you`re traveling solo and want a room with attached bathroom -- it cost 250 B.
Remember that Your Guesthouse is divided into three buildings: Your House 1, Your House 2 and Your House 3. The cheapest rooms are located in Your House 1. The more expensive rooms can be found in Your House 3 (opened in June 2008) -- the rooms have TV, refrigerator, bath tub and balcony.
Your Guesthouse is known for clean rooms. And a good budget option where you can get a double room with fan and shared bathroom. It`s known for serving delicious Thai and Western food -- their breakfast is just amazing.
Here you can also rent a bike, take a cooking class and the friendly staff will gladly arrange tours to the nearby attractions. And you can`t miss their Thai massage!
