Jaipur AccommodationLooking for Jaipur Accommodation?
It`s a popular business city, so hotels are the majority in Jaipur`s accommodation. To get a cheap room, I suggest you head for the area around Mirza Ismail Road (MI) and Ajmer Road.
Evergreen Guesthouse
Price per night: 7-20 dollars If you want to meet other backpackers, Evergreen is the place to go in Jaipur! Chill out in their courtyard, or grab some fantastic Indian food at their restaurant. But… …You`ll notice that the place is pretty rundown… The best rooms are on the first floor. So, check out several rooms before you decide to check in! Phone: 0141-236 3446 E-mail: evergreen34(at)hotmail.com Where: Near Chameliwala Market and MI Rd
Atithi GuesthousePrice per night: 650 rupees Finding a clean room in India is HARD. But Atithi guesthouse is in fact known for its cleanliness. We even noticed that they changed the bed sheets and towels every day. That was, well… unusual to us (especially after we stayed in Mumbai). We enjoyed relaxing on their roof terrace and tasted their delicious vegetarian food (limited food menu though). They also serve Western food.

We met a few backpackers from Canada who told us that they booked a room in advance (via e-mail). And the staff at Atithi confirmed their booking. But when they got there, the reservation was cancelled…! They had a wild discussion with the staff for 2 hours, and they even showed them the e-mail confirmation. The staff refused to have confirmed their booking… After a while, they got a room, but at a more expensive price. The Canadian backpackers got pretty pissed about it, but they stayed cause they admit that the place was good-value (apart from the service of course). So, confirm the booking twice. Call them if you have to. And get the name of the person you`ve talked to. That`s what we did. E-mail: atithijaipur(at)hotmail.com
Hotel Pearl Palace & RestaurantPrice per night: 300-900 rupees I read excellent reviews of Pearl Palace before I got to Jaipur, and I want to contribute to their well-deserved reputation! Large, clean rooms and a comfy bed! Backpackers can`t ask for more… And we tried their Indian food at the roof-top restaurant. We waited a long time for the food. Well.. we can`t blame them because their food was remarkable. While waiting, just relax and enjoy the view of Jaipur! If you`re interested, you should book in advance. You have no idea of how quickly this place fills up! Where: Hari Kishan Somani Marg, Hathroi Fort Phone: 0141-237 3700

Hotel Aashish
If you`re tired of sleeping among cockroaches and can afford a more luxurious option, try Hotel Aashish! Air-con, attached bathroom, TV, hot water and excellent location. We got what we paid for. The restaurant downstairs was OK. There was not much food to choose from! To us, it was clear that this hotel targeted business people. Address: Hathroi School, Ajmer Road, Jaipur.
