Let's get to business:

What's the Kashmir conflict about: This is mainly a territorial conflict between India and Pakistan, where they've been fighting for the state of Jammu and Kashmir (or just Kashmir). China is also involved in this conflict.

The first war was from 1947-1949, again in 1965, and the last one was in 1999. India and Pakistan became independent countries in 1947, and that's when it all started.

India wants Kashmir as an integral part of the country, and wants Pakistan to stop supporting militants who perform terror acts along the border. On the other hand, Pakistan wants to give the people of Kashmir some "democracy" by giving them the opportunity to decide which country they want to join.
