What are the Malaysia visa requirements?
This is how a visa stamp looks like
|
Whether you need a Malaysia visa or not, your passport or travel document must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date
of entry into Malaysia.
And remember to have more than enough with pages in your passport.
In addition to this, you should have an onward ticket to show that you're actually leaving the country (in theory).
When we traveled to Malaysia, we only showed our Norwegian passports, got a stamp each and no one checked if we had an onward ticket.
But maybe we were lucky…?

Overstay
Overstaying your Malaysia visa has its consequences.
As far as I know, if you're not caught by the Malaysian officials and you go to them, you have to pay a fine (about 30 RM per day).
However, if you're caught overstaying, the officials can detain you according to the law which opens for discretion. There have been rumors
of travelers being detained for several weeks or several months, so watch your stamp…
